Activity

An activity represents a type of manufacturing operation. There are two types:

  • Direct activity (e.g. Deburring, Assembly, Inspection): the activity has its own hourly rate. No machine is associated.
  • Machine activity (e.g. Milling, Turning, Mill-Turn): the activity serves as a parent category to group machines (resources). The machine selected in the routing determines the hourly rate.

Machine (Resource)

A machine is a production equipment linked to a machine activity. Each machine has:

  • A manufacturer (e.g. DMG MORI, Mazak)
  • A model (e.g. DMU 50, QTN 200)
  • An hourly rate used for cost calculations
  • An OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) — not yet used in the system

Manage activities

Fill in the fields in the Activities section (name, type, hourly rate if direct activity) then save. To edit an existing activity, select it from the list, modify the information and save.

Manage machines

Fill in the fields in the Machines section (manufacturer, model, hourly rate, OEE) then save. To edit an existing machine, select it from the list, modify the information and save.

Activity management

In the Activity Management section, machines already linked to the activity are displayed on the right (manufacturer + model). Select a machine from the dropdown at the bottom right then click the link button to add it to the activity. You can also remove a machine from an activity by clicking the link icon next to the machine.

Import / Export Excel

  • Export: download the activities and machines list as an Excel file
  • Import: drag and drop a completed Excel file to add or update in bulk

Mandatory fields are flagged in red in the Excel file.

Warning

Never modify the Excel file structure: do not delete columns, rename headers or add empty rows. Any structural modification will make the import fail.
