Step Templates

Templates let you save a typical manufacturing routing and apply it to other similar parts. This is a major time saver when quoting part families.

Prerequisites

• Have created at least one manufacturing routing

Create a Template

From an existing routing

1. Open the routing of an already configured part
2. Click Save as Template
3. Give the template a name (e.g., "Standard Ti 3-axis milling part")
4. The template is saved with all steps, activities and machines

Apply a Template

1. Open the routing of a new part (empty or to be completed)
2. Click Apply Template
3. Select the template from the list
4. Steps are copied into the routing

TIP

After applying, you can modify times and steps individually. The template is a starting point, not a rigid framework.

Manage Templates

Templates are managed in Administration > Step Templates. You can:

• Rename a template
• Delete a template
• See which parts use a template

Important Notes

WARNING

Templates are shared at the company level. All users in your organization have access to them.
